Welcome Reception: Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History
Description
This year’s Welcome Reception will take place at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. The evening will highlight NAR’s long-standing sponsorship of the Within These Walls… exhibition, which features a reconstructed 18th-century home and tells the story of American life through the experiences of five families. With the nation preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026, this historic venue offers a particularly meaningful setting to reflect on our shared history and officially kick off Advocacy Week.
Getting to the American History Museum:
Shuttle: A limited shuttle will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the hotel's 11th Street entrance.
Walking: The museum is a 15-minute walk from the Grand Hyatt Washington.
Metro: Attendees may also take the Blue, Orange or Silver Line to Smithsonian Station, followed by a 5-minute walk.
**BAG POLICY**
For the reception at the museum, bags up to 12” x 6” x 12” are permitted. All bags will be searched before entry, and non-clear bags may be subject to additional screening. All guests must have a conference badge and a valid photo ID available for entry.
